Upgrade your loft access with our premium High Impact Polystyrene (HIP) Insulated Loft Hatch Unit, designed to deliver a cleaner finish, improved insulation, and superior draft control compared to standard MDF doors. This modern uPVC-style hatch is ideal for homeowners wanting a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution when boarding or improving their loft.
To fit the HIP hatch, we typically resize and increase the existing loft opening to the unit’s required dimensions of 726mm x 562mm. It features a smart 45mm pencil-rounded architrave, creating a professional, seamless look on your ceiling.
The hatch is fully draft-proofed at both the frame and door contact points, helping maintain energy efficiency throughout your home. Inside, the removable door contains a 50mm layer of polystyrene insulation, offering excellent thermal performance while still being lightweight and easy to handle. Removing the door provides extra clearance for storing larger items.
For simple and secure operation, the hatch uses a flush-fitting twist catch connected to a central lever-lock mechanism with two side bolts. Your existing stowing pole for the loft ladder can be used to open and close the hatch with ease.
